Your resume caught the eye of a potential employer and they’ve called you back for an interview. Now what?
One of the most important things you can do before an interview is research the company. Here’s some ways you can go about doing that using a search engine and social media.
Google offers you the opportunity to search the company by simply typing in the company name. On the left hand side of Google, after the search, you’ll find a list of options that include searching for content posted within the last hour to the past year (see image below). Using this option will allow you to find content on the web that you can use as a conversation in your interview.
Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Linkedin are amazing tools that you can use to learn about the company culture, the latest news and quite possibly a personal connection that you have within the company.
Some companies share quite a bit on social media where you can see photos, videos, and conversations that can lead you to having a better understanding of who they are. Engaging in those conversations may show interest and provide an opportunity for the employer to get to know you before the interview.
